$40 ss Performer rehab and other projects
« on: February 24, 2013, 05:31:53 PM »
Not bad for $40, and at least the gas assist still works.

leans a bit, needs some tightening up.

The gas assist still works, I tested it with the tank from my blue performer.

Lids in really bad shape too

Nice isn't it. I'm hoping to finally use it this weekend. Got this in a trade from a west coast associate.

Here's a pic of it...

I assume you will be swapping out the lid.  What is up with the lid vent ? It looks like only one of the holes is open.  Is there any extra vent hole ?

Swapping out the lid is affirmative. The vent thing is an optical illusion, that's how bad the dent is.

What's the date stamp on that lid?  When I got my 1993 SS Performer, I sent Weber some photos of the rust around the handle and got a new lid for free.  I guess they are waranteed against rust for 10 years.
