Offseason roster changes
« on: March 10, 2016, 05:58:44 PM »
NFL teams are in the thick of free agency so I took the opportunity to evaluate my own roster:

This time last year I had just upgraded to a performer and finally added an 18" WSM as well as a craigslist 18" 3 wheeler as a tailgate grill.

So that lineup served pretty well for the spring and summer but as I got used to the performer I really grew comfortable with 22" grates and the 18" just seemed small. I grabbed an extra 22" kettle for cooking pizza and that became the travel grill. The 18" kettle had been sidelined ever since. As the summer came to a close I scored a 22" WSM on Craigslist so the 18" WSM was sent on down the road.

While that lineup was strong,  the craigslist gods blessed me again and a local 26" kettle was added. Now I have a real dream team:

But like every great team, there's only so many players who can take the field at any given time. It's time that I thin this heard a bit: the SJ Silver and 18" kettle just don't get any use so I think they will head back to craigslist, which is where they both came from anyway. If I ca n sell them both then the 22" OTG Can stay as the travel/tailgate kettle. Maybe it will keep its job as the pizza kettle as well.
Starting LineUp: Summit Charcoal Grilling Center, Ranch Kettle, Genesis E310, SJ Gold MiniWSM, the JETTLE,
Alumni: Performer Dlx, 22.5" WSM, 26" OTG, 18.5" WSM, 22" OTP

It looks like your team is on performance enhancing drugs and could use some color diversity haha. That's a line lineup you have there. It's similar to what I would run if I had to pare my cookers down to a roster of 5. Oh, and kudos for taking the family pic in the rain.

Oh Yeah  ...   you can try and hide (it), but we see that gasser there in the background (look behind the 22" WSM :-)     Very nice kettle family you have, I love the black kettles too.                  SJ

Completely unintentional, although subconsciously maybe there is more to it then that.

Very nice, what are your favorite upgrades?

Gas assist performer was game changer: lights quick allowing mid week charcoal cooks previouslythat were previously gas only.

The 22 WSM and 26 kettle were both recent craigslist scores for a fraction of retail so they only have a few cooks each but I feel like I could feed an army.
