Skittles - Weber Metal Bowl Handle Kettles (MBH)

You have a spectacular collection. Recently, a relative gave me an older Weber Kettle that is pictured.  As you can see it has a wood handle top and metal bowl handle. The color is more grey than black and it is speckled. For color comparison, I put a black Weber next to it. Have you seen one like this?

Hi Cellar2ful - what you have is a nice faded black MBH kettle. If left in the sun the pigment fades over time and becomes speckled as you noticed. Still a great old kettle, congrats and welcome!

Ditto here on the MBH with color.  This Saturday as part of my three Kettle swoop i'll be picking up my first MBH, an undoubtedly faded black as well-



In what year did they switch from the straight edged ash pan to the curled one?

@captjoe06 if I'm not mistaken the ash pan went from straight to a rolled edge in the middle of 1979. Early A codes have the straight and late A codes have the rolled.
