First spring cook on the ranch
« on: March 21, 2015, 12:51:22 PM »
Not going to let the wet snow yesterday delay firing up a kettle. Decided to pull the big gun out. I use the charcoal ring from a 22 WSM to contain the fire.

Apps on - Abt's and chicken wings

Fine looking cook. If I had a Ranch I'd use it as much as I could. That first shot with the chimney's firing is choice.

I love the ranch cooking grate leaning up against the Performer... Looks like it could swallow that Performer whole!

Here was the other goodies. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and Italian sausage with peppers and onions in the skillet.

Thanks guys - yea I didn't notice the RK grate to performer comparison in that pic. The skillet I used was a 12 in by the way. The area one has for indirect cooking on a RK can't be beat. I want to use it more this year. The charcoal consumption isn't much more than the 26.

Yeah Miller !!!!

Glad you were able to melt off enough snow to get this going...... 8)

It always (almost) seems like the Ranch just doesn't have to try that hard to do up a load of goods.....always amazed !!!!

Wow with that charcoal ring in there it looks like you could fit a 22 inch kettle in the ranch and still have room!
