My Lime 18 finally cleaned up
« on: September 06, 2014, 06:29:35 PM »
So I found this grill at an estate sale (thanks Brian)  missing the entire lower half.  No legs, ash pan, triangle, or wheels.  Stu helped me take care of that problem...Thank you!
It was mounted in some sort of steel pan with shorty legs as you can see in the first two photos.  Not sure how this grill was used, but I'm guessing the owner just carried the whole grill and steel pan outside together.  As you can see...it was in very nice condition.  It has one small chip halfway down the bowl on one side.  Other than that, its close to flawless.  The cleanup consisted of polishing the daisy wheel vents and top vent, scrubbing the grease off the ash pan, polishing the legs a bit, and repainting the whitewalls on the wheels.

All the parts ready for assembly

And all done!

What a sweet score, that is seriously clean! Beauty Jeff!

I swear the colorful 18's have a thicker coating of porcelain or something, they always have that deep gloss.

Gorgeous Limey, Jeff! Im intrigued by the ash table it came to you with. Makes for a creative table top cooker.

It was nothing special Craig...so much so it was put into recycling as soon as the grill was removed from it!

Very Nice Job Jeff! The limes are very cool to look at..
Any tips on tightening up loose vents without removing them?
