I love my Performer. I like the convenience of the table... use it a lot, even when I'm cooking on other kettles. I never found it to be in the way, just handy.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Nice to have an extra kettle to keep lit briquettes ready when needed on extended cooks. They stay hot for a long time in a closed vent kettle and isn't a big deal even if they go out. I don't own a 26 but I can see why folks that use the snake love them. I don't mind not cooking while I am looking and refueling. I have owned a Performer and they are very convenient till you need more coals to extend a cook. Never added raw briquettes in the middle of a cook.

I don't see how the Performer can be a PIA to anyone. When I'm cooking on my kettles, I stand in front of said kettle. My BBQ area is narrow, between my shed and a fence. Tongs. Easy reach. I don't walk around the kettles as I'm cooking. No need, and I can't. Tongs. I love the table assist. And yes, it is not portable, butt it was never meant to be portable. Weber makes smaller units for that.
