Comparing 'merican Weber firepit to the Euro
« on: August 31, 2017, 05:58:27 PM »
I currently have both in my possession, they are both @jbenavidez2

Top view

Ground level  only thing that I don't show in the pics is that the Euro does have a cool slide aside for the lid.

I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

The center ring is key. Something about using the fireplace with the ring and lid allows it to radiate heat, minimize smoke and makes sitting around it much more enjoyable.

It is neat to see them side by side. They are very similar except that the us version has the center ring. You would be limited by the size of fire as well.

I don't find it limiting, and I like a good size fire

My plan is to make a ring for it and donate one for my parents place so I could use while I'm there.

I'd like to get ahold of an old style (U.S. version) Weber fireplace.

What version is this, and I read that you should put something in the bottom to protect it from teh high heat, anyone have any suggestions on what to use?  Fireglass?

That's the US version.  Put some sand in the bottom before firing it up.  I just got a second one last week, then passed on my older one to another local WKC'er.
