Craigslist mistake?
« on: June 18, 2015, 04:01:36 PM »
Picked up a cheap kettle for 20 bucks. think I should have left it on Craigslist. I think it might be too far gone. I need everybody's help to determine what to do with this thing.

Does it wobble? If not, use it as is. If it wobbles because a leg socket weld is loose you should reinforce it. This thread should help you: http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/my-socket-repair/

Interesting, I did not see that on craigslist at all.

Socket repair is no big deal, you can find new vents, they are the same that they use on the 22 WSM.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

It's gotta be pretty bad for a $20 outlay to be a mistake. That there is fine.

At the very least you have a good kettle lid you could use on a Ugly Drum Smoker or as I do, use it to cover what I'm cooking over our campfire to trap heat and smoke.
