That's the first cook on my new to me Sequoia. Difference in color is a result of lighting or color balance.
I had planned to pick up some salmon steaks since they were on sale, but then I saw baby back ribs for $2.99/lb. That's the first thing I cooked on my first Weber so it seemed right for this inaugural cook.
Here they are, rubbed and ready to go.
Fire in the hole!
Been going a while.
Did some veggies on the 18
One disappointment...
The ribs were not ready on time. And kettle temperature was dropping. (And I was getting hungry!) I pulled them and stuck one rack in the oven to finish. <sigh> The rack closest to the coals turned out to be done. It didn't get the prescribed rest time but was sliced and plated immediately.
When dinner was done I broke out the pie iron and made some peach pies with the last little bit that remained of the fading coals.
