Please help: vintage table
« on: September 26, 2019, 07:24:55 PM »
For those of you that may have one of these original wood vintage side tables, can you please post some pictures of the metal clips that connect the wood to the bowl? I want to know what the original un-modified pieces look like please. Also, any pics of the utensil hooks would be great.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Here is an image of the hanging bracket and the tool holder for a vintage Weber table.  The bracket and tool holder are in the lower right of the photo by the leg sockets, which the table legs slide through and are held by thumbscrews.  The table connects to the kettle via the bracket hanging onto the front bowl handle.  This is all I have for images for tonight.

Ok, here is the clip that goes onto the bowl, the lid doesn’t close because the metal isn’t flush, is that normal with these?

The bracket is not designed to hang on the bowl. It hangs on the bowl handle. The handle fits into the larger slot, closest to the end of the table. If your attaching the table to a 18" kettle, the flat strap of the 18" MBH fits into the thinner slot of the bracket. The table then will be about 1 inch away from the kettle, allowing the lid to close.  Keep in mind that most of these tables were manufactured during the era of MBH kettles.  Some of these brackets will not fit over 1981 and newer kettles with wood bowl handles. My bracket will not fit over a wood bowl handle.

@Cellar2ful thats one for the tease thread!

He could take the wood off and use the 18 slot on a 22" though right? Ive never seen one of these bad boys in person so I really have no idea

I'm not sure the two pressed out knobs on the metal handle that hold the top wood from spinning, will fit in that thin slot.

There is another style of handle hook, as well - both style fit MBH only.  I've got pics of the 2nd style... I'll post them as soon as I track them down.

This thread has some detailed pics of the original table:  http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/index.php?topic=12252.msg120816#msg120816
