Mid 60s Statesman
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:45:56 AM »
We've been on the road nearly all summer on vacation and just completed a 24 day road trip visiting family and friends in STL, Minnesota, and Seattle.  With a side trip to Canada thrown in as well.  While in Seattle last week I noticed this gem sitting on CL here in Vegas.  It was listed as a charcoal bbq.

Got home Monday night and emailed on Tuesday doubting it was still available.  The lady emailed right back saying it was and I drove across town to pick it up.

The lady was selling items that had belonged to her father who had passed away.  She said she'd always remembered him having it since she was a kid.  She was selling it because she doesn't grill.  I told her it was going to be fixed up and well cared for.

Her dad must have been a good grillfella.  One of the leg socket welds broke, and he did a great job screwing it back on.  Only problem was he had sawed off the front leg for some reason and it was lopsided.  I did a thorough cleaning last night, replaced the front leg with a spare on hand and here it is ready for more years of service.

Only problem is that I need to sell my A code redhead to make room...it may be going to a coworker, but if it doesn't go through I'll offer it here.  Here's the pics!
