So today at the WKC meet I cooked on my red MT for the first time. I've had this kettle in my possesion for a while now but I finally got it cleaned up and out of storage. It's in great shape, only a few small nicks on the lid edge. At the end of the day, I was cleaning it out to pack so I propped the lid into the bale, pulled out the grates and charcoal basket and then went to pack those away. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind blows and I hear a loud CLANG. I looked over and the lid was still in the lid bale......... except the entire assembled kettle was laying 90 degrees on the ground. The lid acted like a sail and the entire kettle popped a wheelie. There are now two big chips and dings on the lid right where the rollers touch the lip. It looks like someone took a 1/4" rod and took two crisp whacks at the lid lip. Oh well- yolo.
