Beer can chicken
« on: July 13, 2014, 06:22:19 PM »
Tonight's dinner - beer can chicken, corn on the cob, bread using pizza dough we made a couple nights ago, and cream cheese/cheddar cheese jalapenos which were left over ingrediance from the ABTs. I ran out of bacon. Also made some gravy with the chicken drippings with a little wine and butter.

The start

Finish

Jalapeņos and bread on the gasser

All the meat off

Plated. Corn was cooked on the kettle while he chicken rested.

The grate is a cast iron grate off one of my weber genesis gassers. They are in pretty rough shape but they work to elevate my pizza stone or to get a little lower that the kettle grate. I didn't think I had enough room for the chicken so I set that in to get a little lower. This was my first chicken on the kettle.

Very nice cook. Excellent technique on the cast iron mod.
