Alright guys, no more messing around! 8)

Here is your chance to win a brand new 22.5" Ivory Master-Touch simply for making an entry into the contest!!

Starting now and running through October 1st, all WKC members are eligible to submit one qualifying picture per week for the next two months (up to a max of 9 entries).

Please note that ALL ENTRIES MUST MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS BELOW OR WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

Rule 1: No OLD cell-phone or tablet images please!  I need proper digital camera or high-quality phone pictures in order to make them useable for print.

You don't need a crazy Digital SLR camera (although that would be great!), just something better than a poor cell phone.

We want to encourage people to take the time to select a kettle or kettles and plan out a small photo shoot specific for the contest. Show us what you've got and get creative!

Rule 2: Images must be in Landscape format:

Rule 3: Image size must be at very least 1600x1200 pixels. Please use standard 4:3 Aspect!

Most proper camera's will easily take photos at this resolution, just be sure not to downsize the images when transferring them to your computer. The larger the filesize the better!

Rule 4:All images should be submitted via email to matt@weberkettleclub.com

I will post copies of the submissions in this thread so everyone can check out the entries as they come in.


It's as easy as that!

A draw will be made a few days after the deadline to determine the lucky winner.
Shipping of the grill will be covered within the mainland USA or Canada. Anything beyond that the winner will be given the option to pay the difference in shipping or a new name will be selected.

Stay tuned for more info as there will be some additional runner up prizes added to the contest shortly.

Hey @SixZeroFour - the camera from a modern iphone or android phone would be potentially good enough for print, assuming they send you the full resolution

right?

Chicks have the Firemans calendar, the lads have the WKC Calender.

@Troy I've run into issues in the past with camera phones having a large filesizes, but the lens itself just isn't up to par and provides a slightly grainy image. If you have an iPhone 6 PLUS or newer you might be able to get away with a camera phone but a proper camera is the way to go if at all possible.

If you don't have a suitable camera you are welcome to submit camera phone images but there is a 50/50 chance it may not be usable in the calendar!

ahhh ok
so the graininess usually comes from low light situations.
Most modern cell phones take great pics in bright light, but suck ass when it's past 6pm.
(someone who knows more about cameras can probably 'shed some light' on the reasoning...  as far as I understand, the graininess is the result of a bump in ISO [light sensitivity])

Exactly!.... that and motion blur usually creep into camera phone shots. Not saying its impossible to get a great shot, just requires more planning and possible a mount or tripod to get a super clean image.

Just a tip for those wanting to use a camera phone - you can use the earbuds on your iPhone as a shutter release. Either of the volume up/down buttons on the side of the phone or on the earbuds will take a picture. It can greatly reduce the "motion blur" mentioned above that can come from trying to tap the phone screen to snap a pic.

There are many spots available in the calendar and the grand prize will be done by draw so it's not about beating any one particular shot...

It also doesn't have to strictly be of the exterior of the kettle - give me some killer food shots, smoke shots, vents, kettle parts etc etc. Anything that represents what kettles mean to you!
