Got my Timestick

I bought the red one to complement my blue Thermapen. I'm really digging this thing!  Check out the writeup here:

I've had a blue one for a week or so...no more worrying about dropping the phone into the grill. Serves it's purpose well enough.

I've been on the fence for a while about Thermopen but finally decided it was a tool
that I needed to utilize.

Your review was spot on.  I ordered a green one as well as a green thermopop.  I bought it mainly to use while grilling/smoking since I have a timer on the microwave in the kitchen.  However, if I need an additional kitchen timer, this will do the trick.  Like others, it will be nice to not depend on the iPhone for a timer.  It gets old using it with slightly greasy fingers...I'm not worried about that with the timestick.

(Don’t let these cons deter you too much, if you need something bigger & louder for a countertop Thermoworks has an aptly named Extra Big & Loud Timer lol.)

It starts with a time stick, thermopop, or thermopen, then you need additional products that are louder, faster, or can do many things at once.  Next thing you know, you have drawers full of thermoworks products and you have acknowledged, through your forum signature, that you have a problem....

Great review and awesome Wedgewood.

Good eye! It came with the apt. It's quite nice even for it's size. There's a few places locally that have some beautiful restored ones in stock. I just recently found out how old these things are too. That's IR gun is probably next on the list.

Can you time multiple cooks ? Like if you have one kettle with a brisket another with a butt and the other with ribs, could you time all cooks?
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

No, it's single timer only. :(

Thanks L
Is there a timer out there, where you can time multiple cooks?

Hogsy, here is a multi-timer that gets top marks from the product testers at America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Country:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000K0QEY6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3GNIM3WMIZK4V&coliid=I2PPDK5ZRFCNB1

I've had my eye on that one for awhile now, but pulled the trigger on the Timestick when I realized the solution to a timer always being out of earshot was to have one I could wear around my neck.  Plus I think I'll appreciate the 'up-timer', where I can let the thing run like a stopwatch (and save myself the constant addition/subtraction when I'm doing really long cooks).  Mine is red too, and it showed up yesterday.  I'm liking it so far, though like Gummi I wish it had a backlight on it.

Thanks for taking the time to pitch the item, but I  still don't the appeal of a $25 cook timer. Even if you have to have a name brand timer (I get by just find with a $1 timer from the dollar store), Thermoworks makes the TW-362 which serves as a damn good food therm as well as a timer for about the same amount of money as the timestick (I got mine for $18 when they were on sale last year). It even has a magnet on the back if that is your thing.
