I love re-purposing cos it's fun and because I'm a tightass. This is my latest project made up of old and new.

I bought the Gourmet system from Weber. But unlike you guys, we can't get the sear grate for $12. For us it's $69!

This is similar to the Globe grill you guys have. I got it at a good price on ePrey.

I bought it purely for the CI grates. At the least, I could use them as a set. But hang on.....

What if I drilled a couple of holes and threaded them? What if I put some studs......

This could just work.

I'll be using them this afternoon to sear some lamb backstrap kebabs

Thanks guys.

Looks like I stuffed up some editing. Could a moderator get rid of the surplus replie I have made.

GET ON THAT SHIT
WONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

The beauty of this Golly, is that if I take out the studs I can use the entire set. It will tide me over until I get a proper sear grate.

Worked a treat. I need to learn how long to sear for I think.

If it's a weber, I can't pass on it. That's my sickness! I hope I am never cured.

Its lamb backstrap with a bacon kicker. I sprinkled some sumac and dried oregano, then brushed with EVOO and lemon juice. They cooked for about 30 minutes and seared for about a minute each side.
