Part #7409 for the ash sweeper on these older SS Performers.  Ebay has one for 20 bucks opening bid

Weber.com ash sweeper is #7444 and doesn't work with the original ash ring/support bar

And yes, this thread for Brian on a replacement support bar (gummi posted it, but he posted a lot of links.  Make sure you look at this one)

I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

This is as clean as it's gonna get. I am not taking it down to the frame and all that. This guy I got it from apparently hasn't cleaned it since 1999 when he got it. It's good enough for me now. Now I'm waiting on the blades from lightning boltdz and she will be ready almost. The handle to the lid is almost rusted off so I may try to tack weld a couple spots so it doesn't fall off then I'll be done......maybe haha

bmwhitt

Finally got it home and fired it up just for fun!! It looks great to me. Not near as perfect as some of yours but I love it!! Thanks to Jeff, lightening boltdz, for the new blades!!

Wicked Whitt!!!
That's one great looking performer
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Looks great! Now get cooking!

bmwhitt

I cannot wait to cook on it. Dad had to tack weld the handle of the lid and I need some casters and a thermometer but I flipping love this thing. I am going to try to do some ribs soon I hope. Thanks for all the help and kind words!!

HankB

That looks great and will make a terrific cooker. Ribs would be an excellent choice for a first post-cleaning cook.

The hard part will be keeping it clean. I use mine a lot either for cooking or for a place to set stuff when I'm using a smoker or another grill so it tends to get dirty fast.
kettles, smokers...

Ted B

Congrats. Its amazing how big of a difference one of these make when cooking. The table and gas assist sure make cooking easier. And kudos to lightning for helping out another grill fella. Jeff's a stand up guy.

Ben,

So glad it worked out for you, and glad I could help out.  The blades looks great.
