Now I'm the one feeling left out! I had planned to shoot my family of black kettles over Labor day, thinking we would not get around to black for a while. What started out as "color of the month" turned into a free for all. Oh, what the hell, here's one to get started - the newest and smallest member of the family:

Can't quite make out the vent code, but it looks like a "D" to me. We've been looking in all the wrong places!

Just a few that I enjoy...

Just the old boys.

Always liked this one - comparison of a SJ and RK.

This was before I cleaned up the RK, but the pic is pretty cool.

Just finished 'building' this 18.5" OTS kettle, it's my first grill, and i'm giving it as a gift.  I wanted a small grill, but wasn't satisfied with what was available so i had to do some improvements.

wood handles from Brian O'Neal, added a thermometer

bought the parts for the ash catcher from ereplacementparts.com to upgrade to a OTG

filled the pathetic legs with copper pipe to make them stronger and heavier. they probably weigh 4x as much now.

drilled & tapped holes for thumb screws for all 3 legs

higher quality rubber footer

reinforced both sides of the bottom of the wheel legs with fender washers

cast iron grates from Craycort

the end

Wow. Just a few minor tweaks there. :) And you are now giving it away?

Nice first post, hope you stick around and introduce yourself.

That is a sweet pic. It's like Weber's version of the matryoshka doll. ;D

i will still get to use it ;)

living in an apartment i have no where to grill, at least not privately. i build electronics for a living and am kind of a perfectionist. i think the mods i did to the 18.5" are how they should sell it -- mostly a collection of tweaks i found here over the past week or two..well and some better wheels and thicker bars on that bottom shelf. Weber bean counters heads would explode
