Happened to notice in my local True Value this am that the Weber pellet pooper was marked down from $999 to $799.

Not my cup of tea, but may be of interest to someone.

It's on sale until Sept 7 I believe. $200 off both models. I'll be getting an EX6 myself

Is this sale to coincide with "summer fun" or is the pellet grill experiencing less-than-hoped-for sales? This would be the time for collectors to pick one up before they go the way of so many other sorely-missed Weber products like the beer cooler, the fireplaces, the torchiere, the bug-killing WEB, the charcoal storage bin, etc.

I love mine.  Makes as good a brisket as I have ever had,
anywhere, anytime, cooked on any kettle or smoker, and
affords me the chance to set it and walk away.
I remember being the guy 5 or 6 years ago clowning on PG's
and their owners.  Then at my customers request I finally
tried one.  There is a reason companies are selling these
by the millions each year.

Agreed.  Each person can buy it or not.  But why dog who people buy it?  Where is the benefit in that? If pellet smokers work for them, and they are happy, that's what counts.

Smokefire isn't going anywhere. Local store can't keep them in stock. And yes, it's to go along with the Summer of Smokefire promotion they are doing; knock 200 off the price, and they're holding cooking events around the country. Hoping to hit one to see what it is.

I really enjoy @bbqking01  SmokeFire cooks shared here.  Definitely not a pellet snob, in fact the pellet cookers do interest me.  Problem is no room for another cooker lol.... And I love controlling fire during a cook.

I think it's a grate piece of equipment based on what I've seen it do here on the forum, I have recommended it to several people who have asked me about it.
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill
