I'd get a replacement.  That's not really worthy of your $400 imho.  The lack of blue inside a leg socket or on the handle is actually fairly normal, even on older kettles.  The drip line off the handle and chips on the ash bucket tabs are just bad quality control to me.

I agree.  Was hoping I wasn't overreacting.  Thanks.

I posted this in another thread, but I guess it belongs here. Of course I'm bummed, but I expect Weber will make it right, as they usually do. Warranty claim has begun.

So between damaged bowls and lids, who is going to be the first to build a glen blue 26 performer?

Mr.Smoke

I'm beginning to have Red LE flashbacks.....sorry to those that received these kettles with defects. I'm 100% confident that Weber will make it right. They've always taken care of me and they stand behind their products!!! Best of luck to you all

I took a lot of pics and submitted to them.  We'll see.  Seems like more are showing up with defects than without.

Mine had similar paint issues on the ash bucket ring tabs just like one of the pics above, but that was the only thing I noticed. I didn't think it was a huge deal

Also mine came with the sweeps already attached. Maybe I'm just a rookie at putting together newer model kettles but that made it almost impossible to put the ash bucket ring on. I tried sliding the ring on over the sweeps handle but if I went any further and really tried to force the ring onto the bowl, I most definitely would have scratched the hell out of the bowl, so I wound up taking the sweeps off to put the ring on, then put the sweeps and handle back on. Maybe I'm showing my inexperience but that was my experience

Received email confirmation that a new lid has been ordered for me. Weber rules.

Yes same.  Submitted the info and they're sending a replacement lid, bowl, and handle kit 67569.  Not sure what I need the handle kit for.  As usual easy support claim process.

Very nice. That's a helluva scar on that lid

My ash catcher holder had similar marks, now I'm wondering if I should have documented all of this before assembly

Don't you mean Glen Blue Mini-Ranch?

I'm happy to say my Glen Blue arrived and it's friggin beautiful!  I feel fortunate that it arrived in good shape.  Here she is amongst my Gen1 Master Touch and my Ranch.  And of course there's the picture with covers so she doesn't draw my wife's attention.  ;D

For those who might be wondering, I had a set of wheels from a red limited edition that I never used.  I figured I'd do something different since I don't have anything more like the original wheels.  Maybe someday.

Handles look cool!  Nice contrast between the wood and blue.
