This is my 1st time assembling a taco/ pop leg grill. The legs were a nuisance. PAM saved the day. The front leg nipple is buried somewhere within the tube and I'm leaving it. :)
I've always liked the Gen2 Performer wheels and I had a new extra pair, and I stuck a Zav on the front. Taco is on for now.

I'm happy to say my Glen Blue arrived and it's friggin beautiful!  I feel fortunate that it arrived in good shape.  Here she is amongst my Gen1 Master Touch and my Ranch.  And of course there's the picture with covers so she doesn't draw my wife's attention.  ;D

For those who might be wondering, I had a set of wheels from a red limited edition that I never used.  I figured I'd do something different since I don't have anything more like the original wheels.  Maybe someday.

Very nice!  Mine is at home waiting in the box... hope it's as clean as yours.  Similar handles are in the works from Marty and I like the wheel selection.  I've got a set of those and may try them too....  Come on 5:00!

Really like those wheels.  I was considering going with those too, but I went with the all blacks from a limited edition red that I already had.  Otherwise, I would have gone with the Gen2 Performer wheels.  Very sharp!

For everyone new to taco handles... Please do yourself a favor and replace the hardware with a fender washer on both sides top and bottom of lid and a keps nut. Especially with the heavy 26 lid. Or else you'll be kicking yourself when the porcelain pops off. I use a 1 1/4" OD x 1/4" ID stainless washer on both sides of lid with 1/4-20 stainless keps nut on all my taco handles. Very secure.

Really like the look of the wheels ! I never complain about Weber design but one of my least favorite things are the solid hubcaps. They look so much better with the whitewall look. Somebody here put vintage whites on and it looked fantastic.

I also had the problem with losing a leg pin. I realized watching some videos that this a new procedure. When I assembled my wife's ivory they had us put the spring clip in the leg first. Now the spring clip goes in the socket first. Well it spun in there and now the pin is not locked. No big deal since I have to take it apart if we get a replacement bowl.

Upon closer inspection, it isn't just black enamel, definitely have some rust spots. Went ahead and submitted a ticket. Just glad Weber stands behind their grills.

Good thing it isn't in Canada. Probably priced near 600 bucks.

Mine had similar paint issues on the ash bucket ring tabs just like one of the pics above, but that was the only thing I noticed. I didn't think it was a huge deal

Missing a little paint on the ash bucket tabs is a non issue to me also. They probably are all going to have that, it's more than likely part of the baking process.

I'm so disappointed. Haven't been paying attention to much of anything lately. So would have loved to get one but only find out about it today! Ah well, wasn't meant to be I suppose :)

Unpacked and assembled mine last night.  The box looked perfect and I unpacked it carefully and found a dime sized porcelain pop on the lid.  Sigh.  Also the ash sweep was installed with the handle on the left side instead of the right which I found out after installing the ash can holder and legs and turned it upright.  No biggie there, took it back apart and corrected - all good.  Similar missing blue porcelain on the ash bucket tabs, but appears to be black porcelain, not bare metal so no biggie for me.  Grates don't seem to touch all 4 supports, so there's a bit of teeter totter there, maybe I will try to adjust them gingerly.  Lid doesn't sit flat on the bowl, maybe the new replacement lid will.  Yeah, I'm picky I guess but kinda wanted it to be perfect out of the box.  Oh it does have some blue over spray in a couple of places inside the bowl which adds character IMO.  Put the original wheels on, but looking for an alternative.  I've seen some neat ideas here and on FB.

Registered it and contacted Weber this morning and they are sending me a new lid when they are in stock - 7/29/20 projected.  Got a Slow N Sear XL which fits nicely, wood handles from Marty ordered with my "Handle" engraved (pun intended) and vent tabs and rollers coming from River City.  Looking forward to getting all completed so I can have my first cook on a 26"!

It is likely that there will be another run.  Keep checking their website and the forum.  Honestly I wish they just done pre-orders on this and taken their time to get them out.  I wonder how many were damaged in the storm that followed last Thursday.

Mine arrives today so fingers crossed that it is in mint condition.

Question for those of you with warranty claims: do you call, or just fill out the claim on the website?

ReanimatedRobot

At the moment I would probably call, but offer to send pictures.  The response time on email claims seems to be a little hit or miss right now.  I have used the email process though in the past and under normal circumstances it works pretty well.
