Grimace, JR: Plum 18.5 Master Touch
« on: December 23, 2018, 02:05:03 PM »
First and foremost, big thanks to @CatskillSmoker for a fantastic trade.  This came to me as a beautiful and exceptionally clean Plum 18.5 One Touch Silver.  I had some spare parts lying around, so I decided to use them.

Stage 1: install lid bale and ash bucket from my former Plum 18.5 OTP.

Stage 2:  Add cedar Zav handles, painted ash bucket and OTG triangle and homemade wood lid rollers.  I don't know if it's just me, but there's something about Stage 2 that reminds me of a certain team that plays in Blacksburg, VA . . .

Very sweet! Looks great! I did the same to my 18 blue wave. Didn’t have the bale strap, though, so I had to manipulate a 22” strap to fit.

Great looking OTG!  I'd love to find a maroon that I could build into a tribute to that specific team ;D

Thanks for the link, but no ship to Canada.  I'm still on the fence about making one out of pine or perhaps even sheathed in copper.
