I have seen a pile of aftermarket stuff for the Kettle and I am looking for something to put some good sear marks on some meat... any suggestions?

Thank in advance!

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Yeah thanks that pretty much sums it up... I am a sucker for Weber gear but there a few options for this so thanks for the link.

I have this SToK cast iron grate, with the cast iron center kettle (great for soups, sauces, and stews):

Love it, and perfect for sear marks. When the CI kettle is not in use, there is a center grate that fills in the hole.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Thats a nice looking set up... thanks for sharing!

I have the Stok grate and it works well and have it
installed on a Gen 3 Performer.  Bought a GBS this fall
from the Palatine store and it's still in the box til Spring.

What also works really well are the CI and PCI grates from
a Genesis.  They fit on a 22 perfectly between the hinged grates
allowing full access to ad fuel.  They really make killer grill marks.

Do you have a link for these grates by chance?

Just a quick link to one @ Home Depot
Not terribly cheap but you get two at that price.
I even found a new in box set at a Goodwill for $11 once.

Sometimes they or Lowes has the PCI available too.

Put a cast iron skillet or gridle on your grill. You will not get a better sear than that

I bought my first set of these many, many years ago and the work great.  In addition to what Dave is selling at ABC BBQ, you can also buy complete sets of them directly from GrillGrates.

Here they are with one grate side up and the other two sections used as a flat top:

I also bought a set of them for my dad's cheapa$$ CharBroil gasser and it turned it a descent grill:

22.5 WSM - Fat Boy
22.5 OTG - Little Man/26.75 - Big Kahuna

Like BigDawg I bought 2 grill grates for my Sprit Gasser - I have the OEM cast iron grates in half of the grill and GG on the other. I always use and leave the GG upside down as a flat top. Great for cooking fish and chicken
