Hi!

I saw this at my grandparents house and my grandfather does not want to give it to me, I asked, just yet but I am trying to get an approximate age on it. I think it looks like a 70s maybe.

One Touch System and wood bowl handles means it is at the oldest from 1983 but could be as new as 1999.  Check out our age guide and welcome to the forums!

I've been called the Robin Hood of Weber Kettles.

The code on the top vent will pinpoint the year. Given the wooden handles with one screw each, I'd guess it dates to mid 80's. Hope this helps!

One touch was introduced in 1983 and the rolled edge ash pan was changed to the full disc in mid-1986.  Most likely this one is from somewhere in that range.  It should have an E, F, G, or H stamped on the vent.

They're usually wise like that for a reason!  :)
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

What you want to do is get your own 18" kettle. Learn how to disassemble it clean it and put it back together, show your grandfather how new looking you got your grill "suggest" you would like to do the same for his. After he see's the end result you'll know that baby will be yours in the future.
