Well, I have always wanted a plum to add to the collection and was excited when I came across this on FaceBook this afternoon.  I was stoked, especially for a $20 bill...  Made contact with the seller and hit the road.  On the way, he text me to be sure I was coming because there was someone else who was also on their way to pick it up.  Seller did the right thing and held it for me since I was the first to contact him.

When I got there, he had it completely wrapped in shrink wrap so I could not really get a good look at it.  I figured for $20 bucks, what the hell.  I have wasted a lot more money on stuff less important than a new SSP.  Got it home and it obviously needs needs a little work.  The worst is there is some rust on the dome around the handle.  It does not go all the way through, but close.

It ends up it is a EI code which puts it at 97'.  Here is the real question? After doing some reading on the codes, some info states the plum was only available in 2000 and 2001?  I now cannot find where I read that info.  But my real question, is this a Plum or Burgundy?  Does not make that much difference because it looks plum to my sore eyes, but the more I look at it, I really question Plum or Burgundy?

What do you think?

More like burgumdy.  The plum has a purple tint to it.  Either way it's s great deal.  Worst case you can always use it for parts.

Thanks Jules,  I was hoping for a plum, but now I guess I'll have to add a burgundy and a plum to the heard.  Damn I hate that...

I would have bought that in a heart beat. Plum/ Burgundy. Its still a great looking SSP. I would restore the hell out of that grill! I would start putting the badge panel on the correct side of the grill. That's going to be one sharp grill!

It's just set up for left-handed use!
Great score!
I personally have no perception of plum v burgundy and think they're the same color.  One of the rarest SSP colors, any way you cut it.

NICE!  Great deal & great that it is a color you don't have.

I just picked up my first SSP today.  It is also my first redhead.

Very cool...  I love red heads also and have a red head SSP to keep this one company.
