Forget what the actual name of them is but they were only available for about what 3 years??

For those that have them how do you like them and are they as functional as they seem?

I have two performers already so I don't need but I do want. Even though I'll be getting one of the limited reds here very shortly

I'd love to find a cheap one of these as a dedicated roti grill

My buddy has one with a roti. The lid still fits in the bale with the roti on but it's a little awkward without a handle on top. I'd probably opt for an old 3 wheeler as a dedicated roti.

But he loves this model of weber. Uses it all the time.

Of all the models Weber has come up with, I'd have to say this is probably my least favorite. I guess a lot of people felt the same. Probably why it didn't last very long. Weird top vent location also seems misplaced. I like the Gen1 Platinum much better.

It's not just a grill, it's a WEBER

Got this grill when it first came out as my very first weber. Only one i had for  7 yrs  until  i saw and fell in love with the  SSP.  Now it's my dedicated roti and smoker by adding  2 grates to the stacker. Chopped the legs off  6 inches since I prefer my grill to be very low.  Side handle works very well if you're not using a stacker. It doesn't get hot. Having a stacker such as roti  can be problematic. Didn't have access to an extra handle so i just added a large eye bolt  which i use to lift the handle. It can gets warm but not hot enough that  you can just lift it with your fingers.

In my not so humble opinion, it just was an ugly overpriced grill. Some may like it, some may not.

I like the back lid bale. I hate the performer side lid bale.

Ah yes, the 2010 Platinum....quite the unusual Weber kettle. The tables make it fugly imo, but I like the stability of 4 contact points. The lid is also weird, but it's an interesting weird. I wouldn't want one for my only Weber, but I like having it. It's a great high temp cooker imo.
