Finally got my new master touch delivered today and put it together. Sorry but I didn't get pictures, I was too excited to get it together. Haven't broke it in yet but hoping to find some time tomorrow. Been waiting for this moment for a few years now and it finally came. I have been eyeballing the slow n sear also but being from Canada, with the exchange and shipping, it puts it at $175. Can't realy justify that right now so I will have to put my fab skills to the test and use up some of the scrap metal that I have laying around and build a poor mans version to get me through till I can justify it. I will post pictures of the final result. The master touch comes with charcoal baskets but I think I can build something a bit better fit in the kettle than them. I guess we'll see.

Yep. I have it cut just need to take it to buddy's shop to have it bent in the brake. Probably not going to compare to the SnS but it will have to do until I can justify buying one.

I like your style!!  You have some nice tools, I must say.

I have made custom baskets using EM (expanded metal).  A cardboard template is key to getting it done.

IMO, the water reservoir is not necessary, but that's just my opinion.  Look forward to seeing the finished product.  :D :D

We'll got'er done today. Had to resort to my mig welder as I just got the tig welder and my technique is something to be desired. I think it is a bit bigger that the real sns but I'm sure it will do the job. Had a couple leaks in the water trough but after some grinding and rewelding I got it sealed up.

Here's my goto welder. Love this thing

That looks fantastic!!  Looking forward to your first cook with it.

Nice work! Turned out awesome. I take it it is not a SS but reg. steel material.

You're right!!! Your welds look like crap ;D

All kidding aside, they look way better than anything I could do.

You did a great job. Two thumbs up!
