Mistreated Redhead
« on: April 20, 2017, 03:49:32 PM »
I found this in someones front yard, legless, sitting in an old firepit frame. It was the first time i have ever found a patent pending in the wild. Now i have to figure out what to do with her. Any suggestions guys?

If you can do something about that nasty hole in the bottom though you're back in business. The other stuff is a pretty easy fix.

Cut the bottom out and have a dedicated redhead pizza cooker. Or a flower pot.

I'd say too far gone for a restore, but this is always an option!

It could be the only MBH-OT known to mankind if you screw it up!

Build a table for it? It'll make a great high heat cooker w/ just a little repair.

Just set a metal disc inside to patch the hole, add some new daisy wheels, and pop rivot a leg connection on.  Ghetto rigged but would be a cooker for sure.

Build a stand for it a la my kettle fire pit

Then watch it turn from red to maroon, then purple, then black …. And then cook on it.   :D

That looks similar to mine.

I use it as is, with the addition of a HC internal ash pan.

Works pretty well.  It is mostly high heat cooks.  Temp control is mainly coal quantity and the is no turning it off.

I'd say get some legs and extend her life.

Can also be used for lighting chimneys and holding hot loaded grates when adjusting coals in your daily cooker.
