I have used both and have no real preference as to which is better, Chevy, Ford battle same thing. I do not see much difference of the amount of smoke coming out during lighting. To me I see a small difference, flavor none, ease minor to a bit more.
I use what is on sale so KBB wins out most often . Only thing that is trouble for me is lump small peices fall through the chimney and coal grate before even being used.
If you are bring the coal to cook I will use either. But I do still have 12 bags of KBB in my shed.
