@Neil_VT00 the ad just said "Asador de Carbon."  I hate to give away my little secret, but I've found two kettles now by searching the word "asador."  It's Spanish for "roaster" or "pit."  I doubt you'd find much searching that in the midwest, but here in the southwest, it's reasonably common to find Webers under that term.  When I hugged it, I just went SLOW.  I hugged it until my chest was sore.  It took about a 45 minutes of gently going from one side to another.  Then I'd put it on the ground and eyeball where it needed more.  I never heard any cracking, and quite honestly, the bowl is in fantastic shape overall.  Minimal crazing, and very little wear on the bottom.

Great find and an even better job getting it back into shape!  I vote for letting the battle scars go as they are.

That's a flat top. If it were not it would look like your Black one. I have a thumbscrew Aristocrat too.

I got my @zavod44 handles this week, and put it on the Aristocrat.  She's looking as sharp as can be expected.  I've decided to name this Aristocrat the Phoenix, because it has risen from the ashes...

The One Touch Plus is in use in this pic...love that glow.  As an aside, I've now named three grills:

Glen Blue: Tiffany
Aristocrat: The Phoenix
Wood Dale 26 inch black (Fleetwood): Old Reliable.

Thanks guys!  The Phoenix is still chugging along on the snake I started at 5am.  Now at 245 degrees.  Smells so good!  @zavod44 beautiful handle as always.  I am curious though, do you use spar varnish on them, or is that something you'd recommend I'd do to preserve them against the elements.  Here in Vegas, rain is no concern, but the sun is...though I'd say mine see no more than 4 hours of sun a day in my backyard.
