Finally found the SS Performer in the color I was looking for.  It hurt my wallet a bit ($150) but I've been passing others up just for this one.  Cleaned up easily, has been well taken care of.

I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

That's a winner for sure. Plenty of years left. Just picked up a NOS cover for mine, you might want to do that too. My old cover will be used when I pick up my next SS, which I hope is not too long.

Beauty!!!!  I really like that last picture of it.

Marty, Weber is still making the old cover for the Performers as of last month.  Its not discontinued yet, but that may not last for long!

That is sweet, I don't think the bride would complain if I brought one of those to the stable.

Jeff do you have the part#?

Any particularly good place to get a cover? Weber? Amazon? IIRC they're about $50 from Weber.
kettles, smokers...

Nice! I wish I could find any SS performer, let alone a specific color.

Extremely Jealous,

Chris

Very nice score.  I just filled up the tank for my DD Burgandy SS performer.  It cost $3.78.

Mine has the same handle. But the ash catcher is not black and my char-baskets are the older wire models.    Hmmmm.

Good eye Java...the guy wanted to keep the wire baskets which was fine with me...I have a set from a red SS that I got a while back...although I do not still have the red SS because I traded it to my brother for a few things including a 22.5 OTS that I gave to my fater-in-law after his grill burnt up when their camper caught on fire.....anyway....I also swapped out the original ash catcher with the one from my 2006 performer that I am selling to a friend of mine for cheap.  I just teared up a little...wait a second...OK...I'm alright now.  Idon't really know how to sell a Weber, I'm used to getting them not getting rid of them...I'm gonna miss it, I mean really miss it...but...It's going to a good home.  He's picking it up tomorrow, I just hope he don't look back as he pulls out of my driveway.  I think the black ash catcher looks good on there.

Want to save up some money and get some sweet Brian handles...I almost typed "sweet Brian wood"...THAT would have been BAD!  Wood Handles is what I'm talkin about!.....Hey Brian, can you figure out how to burn an image of a Bassett Hound on a handle?  I really like this grill.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

It really is gorgeous, Michael.  Congrats on finding it, and I am glad that your patience was rewarded. I've never even seen one in that color.

BTW, if you or anyone else is interested, Weber is still selling the old style wire basket charcoal holders.  They are crazy expensive on eBay, but you can get 'em direct from Weber CS for I think 15 bucks or so.  I know because I bought some, then found a black SS Performer *with* the baskets, all for $25.  That there is Murphy's Law or something, but I'm not complaining.
One of the charcoal people.

Gracious on the basket info, I was hoping to pick some of those up

Not only did you rectify your own dilemma, but found a kinder, gentler tag line............. :'(
"If you want it fancy there is BBQ spray paint at home depot for that. "
    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

Looks like its in great shape from here. I'd like to find a maroon or blue to keep mine company.
You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

Michael Berry

Thanks again guys...I might be interested in one of the old style performer covers...this came with one but it's kinda stiff and crackaly...crackalie ...whatever....I might have just made that word up...

Tag line, I don't know if I want a tag line...what I said today might not mean a damn thing tomorrow so lets just keep it open.

Buckie, If I'm ever in Sacramento, I'm not gonna buy you a drink...I'm just gonna bring us a bottle.

Greg...its 8701 from Weber.  They will have the best deal if you call them direct at customer service.
