Does anyone know if you can drop a new performer kettle into the SS frame? Are the brackets the same? I have an idea brewing...

You will be fine. They should match up perfectly. I did a swap of kettles this summer, measure the bolt spacing and it was identical.

To echo Greg...he is correct.  I have done it myself.  The only issue you might have is the wires for the gas assist.  One of the two grills (cant remember) have much shorter wires from the ignitor button to the burner tube.  Not a hard fix though.

have been toying with switching out a different color for my S/S as well. Been thinking about the maroon. Or turning my copper into a Performer.....hmmm....
Lookin' for a flat top 26"( not black)

Troy

you can switch.

I had switched my red stainless with my blue newer style, with the intent of selling the blue stainless.

However i ended up switching back and selling the blue newer style :\

The wires on the old style are much shorter. I replaced the igniter, which came with new wires anyway.

Duke

Here's one I switched out to make a C&B lime ss.

I should have know this had been tried and done. Great looking SS Duke! And now my creative juices are really flowing, but I'll spare you all with the precise location.

Nice SS Lime Duke! That thing is gorgeous! I have a question, what outfit/retailer sold the Sage green Platinums a few years ago?
