Giving the 18 a little love tonight

This little cooker is one of my favorites.
Nothing fancy or unusual, but $15 for the grill, and a total investment of $28 including the side table and a new hinged grate. One heckuva cookin machine. Looks like a pork chop night!

Never thought I'd use an 18, but this little sucker rocks for a small cook! A compact chimney will go a long way with it

Love my 18 and there are actually some advantages to using one. They're easy on fuel. Less fuel in the chimney means faster start up times. And it still produces the same great food and his bigger brothers. It's a no brainer for smaller cooks and I love to test its limits and see how much I can pack on there. They can be found so cheap on CL I don't know why anyone would be without one.

My first was an 18 (it's been gifted) when I got my 22's. And I never thought I'd go back, but know I remember being able to do so much on it. This post has gotten me really excited about the one I'm in the process of cleaning up now! Thanks!

My very first grill was an 18, and then a friend of mine had the C/B Grass Green Performer and that was all it took. I still got the 18 but it usually just helps out the smoker. I need to get that guy out again. Thanks for the inspiration!

I fired it up again tonight for some sausages. No pics, but I'm sure proud of that thing. I need to convert it to a gold.
