I know you guys have talked about this but how bout one more time.
I have a GrillAlert R/T and know its not the best.
Been looking at a  maverick et-732. Is this the best I can do or is there better??  :-\
Thanks

Et-733

There are others which are more expensive

The mavericks are the most popular due to bang for the buck

I have a maverick et733. It's good. Not perfect but it was $45 on Amazon. Black Friday. They now have a smart phone model but the feedback on it is spotty.  Thermidorian are better I think but they are way more money

I have a ET-732 and the iGrill2. I like the features of the iGrill2, but do not like having to use my phone for the other half of it. So, most of the time I use the ET-732. I have had probes out of wack a couple of times (replaced them) but its a solid device at a really good price.

I have two ET-732's. I'd buy them again if necessary. If you have the coin and want top of the line, look at something from Thermoworks.

I have a ET-732 that I bought 4 years ago. It has been dropped a couple of times and melted slightly on the door of my WSM since I wasn't paying attention and it still works flawlessly.

Think I'll go with the 732. Some bad reviews on amez but you will always have that.
Thanks guys

ET-733 for me. Its been left out in the rain a couple times by accident and still works. I'd buy again.
This is a fairly cheap hobby when you consider the time  with family and friends and how many meals are created.

AZRaptor

I used to use a Maverick, but the signal couldn't reach the master bedroom on the second floor so I use the iGrill2 now. Works great and plenty of reach with the Bluetooth.

ET-733 here. One of the inputs reads weirdly on the sending unit, like 5-10 degrees off. I verified it's not the probes with different probes from a buddy's 732. I still need to contact Maverick about it. :(

Another vote for the 732.....strong, durable and reliable even after 4yrs use and abuse
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Yes and in my experience anytime you don't use a dedicated solution you're introducing variables. I like having my phone handy for pictures but to rely on the software for grilling would be needlessly fussy. I'll take my less expensive, 300ft-range model any day over that.
