He told me about two months ago that he had a red kettle.  He was getting a new one.

So sad that it is not red  :'(  More like Brick Red! ;D

Fix legs, Find Thermometer, remove what I believe to be rotisserie bracket, Clean it up and order fancy handles.

I think I might have to cook on her tonight!

Is the handle bent or are they all like that?

Looks bent to me. I have used a mallet with a towel wrapped around the handle to straighten out bent one's just like that one. Ease into it though.

Brick Red is actually more rare than traditional Reds.

You seem to missing the thermometer and mount on that. New ones can be sourced.

That looks to be a solid Red MasterTouch.......more of them had a fade job (if I remember right?) so that's a score & 3/4's !!!!

Needs a therm & the therm housing (aluminium casing that fits between the handle uprights)

Take the wood off & the alum. piece will slide right in.....just orient so the therm tip will go down in the little slot in the lid.......

That thing may be quite a bit brighter after a cleanup........good deal for a little of the demon rum, eh?

Here is the 18 I just picked up!

Back to the Red ... I have two of the three legs out... the third is just not letting go... it has been soaking in PB Blaster for about 6 hours.  Any suggestions on getting it out without ripping off the leg socket?

The PB Blaster is the right way to start.
Is the socket good and solid now?
If so, then tap on the socket with something that won't chip the porcelain. while you tap, apply a back-and-forth twisting motion to the leg.
Just be careful and it will come loose.

Twisting is key. Flip it over and ask your son or wife to hold the bowl down while you pull. Ask your song Don't pull the leg towards your chest/body otherwise it can smack you when it pops out. You an also heat up the socket with hot water or a cook, thermal expansion may give you sufficient clearance to pull it out.
