Hi guys,

on the following site (it's a Swiss auction site like ebay) I found a nice brown 2 coloured kettle. It seems to be a few years old and it would fit perfectly to my 1992 Master Touch Redhead. And also to my 2012 Smokey Joe Premium (US: Gold?) just bought last week...

You see Weberitis is also common in Europe  ;)

But something is strange about that kettle.
Please take a look at the legs and how the wheels are mounted.

Is this really original? I have never seen something like that  :o

What do you think about that kettle?
It's 100 km away from me so I can't just go there to take a look at but the color looks really nice to me and I haven't seen many like these.

Thanks very much and greetings from Germany,

Sebastian

This looks just like a recent brownie from another German member.  I believe his name was "Englandaer".  lest go see if we can find the thread ....

As G$ just said, it looks legit. Second post of this leg style.

That should be the proof: Weber mounted some scary wheel-arrangements in the 80s ;) And that relieves the previous owner of my grill. Really he hasn´t screwed on the chassis.

@Sebastian: Der ist wunderschön, kauf ihn bitte. Ansonsten mach ich das ;) Und du glaubst gar nicht, wie der beim vermeintlichen deutschen Weber-Kenner ankommt.

Oh sorry... the translation: "@Sebastian: She´s a beauty. Go and get that grill. Otherwise i will do. ;) And you can not imagine what the normal german Weber-wise guy says about this grill."

Thanks very much for the help and the quick answers.
You guys are amazing!!

It seems to be a very special leg version you've all never seen in real and you just bring 2 Germans together in a few minutes.
What a cool story and great example of globalization  :D

For sure I will now try to get the kettle!!!  ;)
If I get it I will post some better pics and write a mail to Weber Germany.
Maybe they can tell us something about this leg version.

Have a nice evening,

Sebastian

Golly

I bought it!!!

For just 22 CHF which is 24 $.
Cool prize for that kettle. I expected it to go much higher.

Don't know when I can pick it up. But as soon as it stands in my garden I will keep you up to date with new pics.
