Looks good and you lived to tell about it!!! My neighbor cut one down last week but I haven't had time to cut it in chunks yet.

with the amount that I have been cooking lately a VERY long time.  i am sure I will be giving some away.

Nice!

I love apple too, especially for poultry.  We have friends who visit the orchard to pick apples in fall every year.  They ask me if I want any apples, and I say, "What I'd really like is some tree limbs!"  The orchards usually have some trimmings, and are happy to share them (if a bit perplexed at the request).

Here's the heartbreak, though:  their normal practice is to just burn the stuff... can you imagine all of that lovely smoke going to waste?
