Today was the day: the old-school tables for my Genesis restoration arrived. They came from Jeff, who found them at a hardware store in Spooner, Wisconsin. He was nice enough to buy them and ship them to me, which was really cool. It was even cooler to think about the fact that my family has been vacationing near Spooner since the 70s, and to wonder how many times I've driven by this same hardware store and these very tables...
The only bummer was that one piece was missing-- the box that said it contained the two bottom shelves only had one inside. I thought all was lost, but my wife suggested I call Weber to see if they still had any of these parts in stock. Well, not only did they have them on hand, but they were happy to send me the second table, free of charge. Not even a cent for shipping! Pretty sweet.
So big ups to Jeff, and to Weber.
