I have an EO 18 daisy wheel kettle and a spare set of old legs. Perhaps this one will be my traveling kettle!

Stu's Coca Cola JJ mod is one of my faves. There's a thread on the tvwbb about it from a long time ago that also shows a better bowl pic.

I did some digging and found the photos of the underside. The paint around the sockets has since cooked away. Not an issue, you cant see it from above anyways.

Love that mod Craig! One of my favorites and I'm planning one as soon as I can.

Question, did you have to shave the legs off to get the JJ legs bolted on? Or did you do it because it looks cleaner?

G said he grinded off the sockets because they were getting in the way of the ash sweep...

"The leg sockets were removed with a grinder to free up some space underneath the ash sweeper but the three weld tabs from each socket remained and were painted (with a poorly matched "red" high heat paint I might add)."

Just wanted to clarify....the leg sockets were removed to match a regular SJP as closely as possible.  It looked a lot cleaner without the leg sockets.  You could leave them if desired.

Thanks G! Sorry I thought you meant the sockets were in the way of the ash sweep but I guess that makes sense they wouldn't be! Sorry to mis-quote...I read it wrong  :o

As I said before, even setting this on a workbench and looking at the Coke JJ at eye level you cant see where the sockets were removed unless you get below it. Even if you could, I still would have taken it. I am grateful to Stu for sharing this one with me.  ;)

...oh, and yeah, you have GOT to get the wood/aluminum handle from Brian O'Neal.  It is a work of art all by itself.
+1 * big thumbs up*
