On Wednesday afternoon, my wife and I walked the beach and I spotted this yellow kettle (bowl only) apparently abandoned on the beach.  It had a blanket nicely folded on the cooking grill along with a bottle of lighter fluid, a pair of children's water shoes and some empty beer cans.  I did not attempt a recovery at that time as there were lots of people on the beach and I assumed someone had just left it there to be used later in the afternoon or evening.

Well this morning at 7 AM, it was still in the same location with the blanket and the other items. No one was on the beach so I believe it had been abandoned. Like the good beach combers my wife and I are, we removed this "garbage" from the beach. It will now reside at our beach bungalow and be put to good use. I do happen to have a spare yellow lid.

I have to give a hat tip to my wife who is a great sport (enabler).  We had to carry the kettle about 1 mile back to our house. When we carried it off the beach to the paved road, I tried rolling it but both wheels fell off as there were no axle nuts. BTW, if I had not rescued this kettle, State Parks would have picked it up today as garbage.

The wheels are plastic with plastic treads and painted white walls. The bowl has small tab bowl vents and since it's missing the lid, I can only date it between a 1973-1975. It should have many years of cooking in it's future.

That is some great beach "trash". Well done. It looks to be in pretty good condition. Wonder where the lid went?
