Roti/Smoker Ring for the 18

About a month ago, I picked up a trashed 22 (no legs, leg sockets, or grate tabs) but it included a roti ring in decent condition.  Since I have a CB roti ring, I got an idea.  I know Weber made a roti ring for the old 18s but I have never seen one.  So I made my own.  The vintage roti rings are much thinner metal and more pliable than current models so it was easy to bend in a smaller circle.  The only problem I encountered was that I eliminated the normal gap that is present with the Weber roti rings.  By doing so, the cover wouldn't fit on the ring so I used an angle grinder to trim a small amount of the upper ring.  Fits like a glove now.....

We can't even get them to keep making colored grills over here, much less color matched rotisserie rings in a variety of sizes!

Nice job...only problem with the older roti rings is that the bracket to hold the motor is made for an older style mount (like this one Stu)  and won't fit the newer style roti motors.  Unless you have an older motor, you may have trouble actually making this one functional, unless you install an updated bracket.
