Weber Performer Gen 1 Model Number

Hello:
I'm looking to resurrect a Gen 1 Performer BBQ that's been tucked away under the cottage.   The panel that should have the Model Number is missing and I'm unable to locate the model number for Gen 1 Performer BBQ online. 
Given most parts suppliers require a model number before ordering,  does anyone have this most sought after data?

Hello and welcome.  There were two versions of the 1st gen  stainless steel Performers, colloquially referred to as SSPs, with either gas-assist or not.

There is one other variable.  Some of the early SSPs had the ash catcher assembly shown in these schematics.  Later SSP models, including the one I had which was a 2002, had a different ash catcher assembly which did not have hex nut, nor an ash catcher bar.  The two different ash catcher assemblies are not compatible and modifications are necessary to use a newer assembly on an older model SSP.

Good to know! The two SSP's I picked up are a '98 and an '02. I'm going to start getting into them this weekend. Thanks!
