@Foster Dahlet that's some good advice. Not everyones taste is the same. It will be fun experimenting with brine.
@mhiszem my family comes from Toledo and one of my favorite vacation spots is Hocking Hills state park  in Ohio. Where are you at in Ohio?

BTW can anyone tell me why there is a number 1 in brackets next to where it says Profile in the tabs? When I click on profile it takes me to my profile page but I don't see anything indicating what the [1] is.

The number means you've been mentioned in a post.  Go to your profile page and under profile info click "Mentions" which will show you the post you were mentioned in.  After that the number next to profile will go away.
