Packing my Webers?
« on: July 03, 2013, 03:47:10 PM »
I'm loading a moving truck right now. What's the best way to pack my 26r?  It has craycort cast iron, so it's heavy.

It is not going in a box.

Same way it's shipped, you can take the legs off if you want or just leave it, then blanket over everything

Wow! That's the most enthusiasm I have heard from Brian all year! He must really want you out of Chicago. That's right Troy, c'mon over to the land of milk and mhoney and drop your snow equipment and big jackets off at the goodwill. Trade your galoshes in for Vans. Stock up on charcoal because we use our webers year round out here. Welcome to sunny California, Americas promise land! :D

Hey Troy - best of luck with the move! Can't wait to hear how the trip goes, and how many more kettles you find along the way.  ;)

Stretch wrap is your friend especially when used after being wrapped in a moving blanket.

I wrapped a 1961 pinball machine and tarped the back of a pick-up and moved it from Iowa to FL raining the whole way and it stayed bone dry.

Lay the tarp down in the truck, lay the extra over the cab, load your cargo, fold the tarp back over the top, and make sure nothing flaps.
