I grew up within bike riding of the original Portillo's and do love them but today...JOHNNIES is by far my favorite beef in the Chicagoland and I've eaten my share of them. Dipped w/hot giardiniera OMG so good. And DON'T forget the lemon ice.

The Johnnies In elmwood park takes me home. My grandmother lived in elmwood park for 50 years so we frequented it often. The place is timeless. Fastest service around. They cook the sausage over hot charcoal on skewers, and you can smell that all over the neighborhood. Best advertising there is.
