Ranch kettle
« on: September 27, 2020, 02:38:31 PM »
My Ranch Kettle is wonderful. One issue I can't resolve. When I open the lid and slide it back into its resting spot in the rear cradle it makes a very loud and unpleasant screeching sound. Metal-on-metal if you get my drift. Very annoying and very loud. I've tried silicone spray and white grease. Neither do any good. I'm wondering if anyone else has solved this issue. Thanks, Fry

No.  Mine does the same.  If I use both handles and lift from the side, it’s better.

The sound reminds of the shrieking of a velociraptor from Jurassic Park.

I try to use both handles when I can to be gentle with it.  Otherwise you shouldn't worry too much when you do it with one hand as long as you have porcelain not chipping.
