Probably a little late but the one I use for brisket all the time is:
1/4 cup Kosher salt
2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
If looking for a heat add cayenne pepper to taste
I rub the brisket with a light coating of olive olive, then shake on to cover, and away you go.
