Barbecuing the Weber Covered Way

First Edition / First Printing Copyright 1972

Cool hardback cook book with great 70’s Pictures.

The waterfall picture(2nd picture) includes:
  • 2 Smokey Joes with offset handles
  • 2 Two Tone Brownie Kettles
  • Avocado Kettle
  • Ranch Kettle
  • 2 Red Kettles
  • Wok

Last picture shows Snow Mobiles with Coffee Pot on a Red Smokey Joe with offset handle.

From that page: “The Weber Kettle Chef is a man for all seasons. He cooks outdoors summer, winter, spring and fall ... The Weber Traveler and Smoky Joe Kettles can go right along with mobile families , too. Pack them up on snowmobiles, in station wagons, on pack horses, in canoes. “

I have cooked on my Weber kettles in the winter when it is snowing here in Colorado. But I’ve never seen a Weber kettle on a snow mobile or pack horse.

Cheers.

Ha! Very cool. Did you just obtain this? Barn find? Estate sale? It's in new-looking condition.

You're hanging out with the wrong crowd...  ;D

I think was a goodwill or other thrift store. I see no evidence it has been used.

Cool book.  Probably the best, most recognizable vintage Weber cook books.  I have a first edition too.   The idea to photograph a bunch of kettles on a waterfall always seemed odd to me!
