Potential acquisition..good price to offer?
« on: June 25, 2020, 06:27:19 AM »
There is a recent Black Original Premium available used in good shape with a cover. They want $125, what is a good offer? Seems a little high to me.

Hope this is in the right thread, new to the forum.

Without seeing pictures of the grill or ad it’s really hard to tell.

The real answer to these questions is, what is it worth to you?

My thought process for this kind of ad is this. The grill plus cover new retail is $201.99. That gets you a new unused grill with a 10 year warranty.

Unless you really abuse a kettle you aren’t likely to need that warranty in 10 years.

So, $125 seems like a fair price and savings over new if it’s in a great used like new condition.

I don’t like paying more than necessary for stuff but I also try to think objectively as well.

Good luck and welcome.

Thank you both for the advise. I don't mind used at all as long as it is in good condition, it adds character.

I am also looking at what appears to be a two year old lightly used Master Touch with a Slow & Sear, rib rack and cover, but a three hour ride for the same amount ($125).

I owned many Webers, but gave them all away over the years. My first kettle was in 1985, my last in 2013 when I moved to sunny Florida. I still have a Weber gas grill, but want to get back into a kettle.

Thanks again.

In that case, same price for both, I personally would go for the master touch

I will post how it goes. He said he has other accessories I can take.

The grill is fine with me. The Photographs look great.

My son and I are driving over, a good excuse for lunch in the Tampa area!

Thanks for everyone's advice, been out of the game...the wife is not happy, she has seen the 'signs' before!

Update.

Good news. Picked it up today for $125.

Like new Master Touch with charcoal baskets and warming rack unused. Unused Vortex. Lightly used Slow 'N Sear. Weber rib rack and Weber cover. In great condition.

And a great lunch at Crazy Fish in Lake Wales, FL.

I am in the game again.
