Ash Pan vs Ash Bucket
« on: October 28, 2019, 04:03:05 AM »
I have an 18" Premium and have never used a kettle with the ash pan. Quick question for my hunt for a 22". Does the ash pan work for collecting the ash?

The modern ash pan is not great.  It sits too low and isn’t wide enough.

The vintage twist style on old vintage kettles works great (better than modern) and looks better but I digress.....

Personally after having an ash bucket I will likely never go back to the pan unless I am using a vintage kettle for fun.  I think Michael is correct about the twist on pan and the twist style bucket being better though.  I still wouldn't use a pan with my kettle parked on any surface that could burn though.

I updated from pan to bucket recently and haven't regretted it one bit.
